Over the last weekend I was surprised to learn that you can’t stream from the mobile web interface of at least some, if not most, of the streaming apps.

Technology@lemmy.world•An entire PS5 now costs less than 64GB of DDR5 memory, even after a discount — simple memory kit jumps to $600 due to DRAM shortage, and it's expected to get worse into 2026English
8·6 days agoI’m out of touch WRT hardware, but it looks like the PS5 uses something called GDDR memory. Your standard desktop or laptop most likely would use DDR. I’m not familiar with GDDR, though I’m guessing just based on the letters that it helps run graphics; still, it probably would not work with your tower or notebook.
I’m sure someone else in the thread can provide a more informed answer.

politics @lemmy.world•We elected an imbecile — and his latest move could kill us all
41·6 days agoThe only other time I’ve seen the word “pithy” was on the old cracked.com.
I suppose it would make sense when discussing fruit, as well.
Additionally, I looked up the word “pith” to make sure I wasn’t being dumb and I learned it refers to the spinal cord! I’ve recently suffered a spinal injury, so that’s useful information.

7·6 days agoI read it yesterday, so I was fortunate to be able to skip most of it after the first few words.
And she seems into it.

It’s cool that that letter migrated seven spaces over.
