Every time I hear someone using slavery as a metaphor, I’m reminded that an overwhelming majority of people don’t know jack shit about slavery.

I understand that it’s just the click-bait title and not super related to the actual text of the blog, but that’s my point. This trivial rhetorical device is insulting to everyone who suffered under chattel slavery.

If you’re still not convinced, realize that saying Americans are slaves because they’re stupid (spoiler for the article), you’re implying that enslaved people were likewise stupid and probably responsible for their condition.
