Is there a reason why you don’t have YubiKey on your list

I don’t buy them because yubico is american. Nitrokey is a German alternative, been really happy with mine so far.

I use nextcloud as a general drive, where I also upload photos automatically. Then I just mount the images folder in my immich container.

Personally I host all this kind of stuff using containers, only mounting the folders that need backing up. Then I just back up all my podman volumes. It’s pretty nice not depending on any tools that have to be maintained or anything like that.

Yeah, having all the audio traces very close to data lines and stuff like that on the motherboard can induce interference. On my old PC there was a very clear noise floor in the built-in 3.5mm outputs. Would 100% recommend an external DAC, I’d personally go with USB rather than PCIe.

Homebrew has announced they’re gonna stop supporting disabling quarantine. Which means I’m gonna stop using Homebrew, as most of their reasoning didn’t make much sense besides “daddy Apple doesn’t like it”.

No, Microsoft, the company, deserves no ones business. I don’t have any particular opinion on most people that work there.

Because the alternatives are just bad for everyone. It’s not just that I don’t like the software, Microsoft is an awful company all around that deserves no one’s business. Apple isn’t that much better either.

The reason is very simple, performance. If a value doesn’t need to be changed, don’t declare it as mutable. This isn’t just a front-end thing btw.

I just use homebrew with quarantine disabled (otherwise homebrew will auto-update the package with quarantine enabled again, even if you installed it without).

I don’t like macs. Just have to use one for work.
