Thanks for this, and I did try it. It sort of worked, I had 400 and change subscriptions, and it got like 180 of them. The rest errored out. I don’t know if that means they’re inactive or just not able to be transferred.

Yep. You can export your subscriptions through the settings, and then import them into a new instance.

I was afraid of that. That’s going to be a major hurdle in getting anyone who’s already established on Lemmy or Piefed to move over to Mbin.

Okay, dumb question…

I signed up for an Mbin instance some time ago, but I never used it. I couldn’t find a way to import my subscriptions from Lemmy, and I didn’t want to have to manually subscribe 1 by 1. I went back to look, and I still can’t find a way.

Am I just missing it, or does it not exist?

Maybe, but the recent elections give me a sliver of hope.

As others have noted, that doesn’t work anymore at most stations. Muting has been disabled.

2 problems - 1) The ads don’t usually start until after I’ve started pumping gas, and 2) the locally owned stations that don’t have these ads (and those are getting fewer and farther between) are more expensive by a good bit.

Yeah, that used to be the thing, but now in my area most of them have done away with the mute button. I’ve also tried pushing all of the buttons down both sides, but it still blares me. If there weren’t cameras at the pumps, I’d pull out my pocket knife and stab the speakers.

It’s a thing, and it’s a thing at most corporate gas stations in my area. And most corporate stations have the cheapest gas prices - which I guess explains why they run ads.

I’d rather have this than the unskippable & unmutable commercials yelling at me at the gas pumps. I’m just trying to get gas.

Are you telling me that people don’t want to move to the FREE STATE OF FLORIDA?
