Troops, especially uniformed commanders, do have a specific obligations to reject orders that are unlawful, if they make that determination.

So he told the troops to do things everyone agrees they are sworn to do, and Republicans complain he’s bringing the military into disrepute and call for his imprisonment and execution, and the Dept of Defense (War?) then pursues ways to achieve this. I guess the USA isn’t doing that whole constitution thing any more.

We need a lot more help than usual and we’re sending our the first ever notification to everyone on the server because this is a particularly bad situation. If people help us, it will enable us to focus more on development again including releasing experimental Pixel 10 releases very soon.

It pays badly and it can be disorganized, but no one I work with is that bad of a person, what we do is more useful to real people than a lot of tech companies and there’s no nasty politics to speak of. So yes, it has its upsides.

Its supposed to take 10-15 minutes but it takes up to an hour, sometimes more. I usually tune in late and sometimes pretend I lost my internet connection halfway through.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but for several years and on several different machines I’ve found Linux just works, while Windows is an endless treadmill of frustration and brokenness.

The whole “old people are bad at tech” thing is a bit long in the tooth now. Many people who grew up with computers are now old, and many young people are just as baffled by the command line as any grandmother.
