  • Green tested out his $140,000 theory, by looking at national average data on key costs — and calculated $32,773 for childcare, $23,267 for housing, $14,717 for food, $14,828 for transportation, $10,567 for healthcare and $21,857 for what he said were other essentials. Add in federal, state and FICA taxes, and it gets to a gross income of $136,500.

It makes sense, although people are still dumb enough to fall for means testing and declare the arbitrary line should be lower because they don’t understand COLA

  • Good news!

The voting members of the DNC agreed with you 8 months ago when they elected a chair with a decade long track record of fair primaries and then putting the full weight of the party behind every candidate in the general.

We’re also very unlikely to see a push to consolidate behind a “winner” after only a handful of states vote.

I don’t think the current DNC chair has ever weighed in on any primary. Even for Mamdani he waited till the day after the primary. And Martin loves Mamdani almost as much as trump does.

So we can expect neutrality till the very last state reports their primary result.

  • I can assure you the body fails between 35 and 65…

Like, this is just about the brain. Middle age does not last until 65 unless you’re dividing a lifetime into three separate chunks and saying a 2 year old and a 33 year old are in the same group.

Which is fucking ridiculous, but boomers didn’t want to ever admit they were aging, so were left with entirely stupid concepts like “middle age” lasting until you retire.

That’s not based on anything scientific, just Boomer’s feelings.

  • The way things have been going lately, I would absolutely love to see Ted Cruz choose this to grow a spine on, and just absolutely goes off on Campbell’s.

The 10,000 roaches in a Rafael suit~ totally normal human Ted Cruz loves Campbells

When I married Ted, we got back from our honeymoon, and he went off to the store and came home by himself. And I was completely shocked to see that he arrived back at our apartment with literally 100 cans of Campbell’s Chunky soup. I never bought 100 of anything.

This was shocking to me, so we had a tough conversation about it. I said, “You don’t buy 100 of anything, much less canned soup. We can’t do this. I’ll be making things.” He said, “No, I know you. You won’t be making things.”

So the next morning, it was a weekend morning, I loaded up our car before he woke up and returned every single can. And when I got home, I called my mother just to make sure I’d done the right thing as a newlywed. And she emphatically disagreed with me. And so when Ted opened the pantry, I had to quickly tell him that I would go back and buy those cans again.
