I wanted to buy Nikes recently. But all their designs were ugly, so I ended up with adidas. Not sure if owner is better than nike or not, but at least I didn’t get Nikes.

Anyone who asks me about this is getting the “At least try Linux for free first before buying a new computer.
Another example I have is that my mother-in-law is retired. You think she needs a new computer? Nope! She’s getting Linux before a new computer. The only other option for her would be an iPad since she’s just browsing the web anyway.

I find that I don’t use it much after I do my initial setup.
Mainly I use it when doing server admin stuff, but for my personal computer, I use it to update and install apps for the most part.

That must be what I saw before and decided against it.

Do you mind sharing what you use the terminal for? There is usually a gui to do most things these days.
I also only know basic commands. ChatGPT is pretty good that, so it is my first stop if I need something complex.

Are there specific things you dislike about terminal?

I’m a resident of a foreign country and I have to do an annual online check in and pay some fee, like $20.
I forgot to do it the first year, but it was not a big deal. I just had to pay a late penalty.

I thought there was a charge or something. I guess that’s what turned me off from it.

I’m not to familiar with zorin, and I don’t see it recommended often. What’s the deal? Any criticisms of it? Especially for new users?

It suggests that if AI companies unfairly exploit musicians’ intellectual property to train their generative AI models, the creative ecosystem will be wrecked and original music silenced.
I kind of disagree with this.
There may be less people making music when money is their main motivator. But there will still be people making music.
Maybe we will lose low effort artists but gain great music by passionate people.
I’m not a musician, but these protests are going to be completely ineffective.
Ok, so don’t use a vpn, just go to a proxy running in another country that is connected to a vpn?
