I can’t believe circumcision is still practiced in some parts of the world.
And it’s been the default here in the US, historically and culturally (for puritanical reasons originally, and now because it’s “the norm”). Absolutely barbaric practice. “Yes, please mutilate my newborn baby because *checks notes* having a foreskin is unhygienic and looks weird compared to what I’m used to seeing in porn.”
Something I consider extremely upsetting is the fact that just nobody gives a single solitary fuck in america? Like it’s literally genital mutilation on a baby? But people will basically just brush you off if you try to bring up how fucked it is?
It’s brutal. I’m very lucky I wasn’t. Both my younger half brothers are.
My BIL had his son circumcized. When I asked him why (he’s not at all religious) he couldn’t come up with a reason.
