Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been released from immigration detention, his attorney Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg told ABC News.

His release came after a federal judge on Thursday ordered Abrego Garcia released from detention.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said in her order that “since Abrego Garcia’s wrongful detention in El Salvador, he has been re-detained, again without lawful authority.”

I’m actually pleasantly surprised to find out he’s still alive and there wasn’t some mysterious hand waving to cover up his “misplacement”

Hopefully he can get amnesty in another country, like Canada or New Zealand. Because this administration will continue to relentlessly go after the poor guy.

Happy for him? We should all be pissed for him. He didn’t win the lottery. He had irreplaceable time stolen from him, subject to torture abroad, all for political play. His family would be understandably traumatized alongside him, and now he’s merely “freed” from something that should have never happened in the first place. Being happy about this feels like rewarding bad behavior for leveling back out to the status quo—you don’t do that. This fight can not be over here.

And he is not even free, a judge had to immediately issue an order that he not be immediately detained by the federal thugs again, and Kilmar is restricted from traveling outside a certain area.
