Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that all of the world's 500 most powerful supercomputers run on Linux.English
1·8 days agoThe more people that use it, the more companies and individuals see that it’s a viable alternative to Windows. It’s not that we are actively affected by others using Windows, we just know how much better it is on the other side with an OS that isn’t trying to be hostile. You already know all the talking points. We just want others to stop complaining daily about how awful computers are and instead see that they don’t have to be.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Bad experience on selfhosting nextcloudEnglish
1·11 days agoI constantly would get files stuck in the database that I couldn’t delete. All of the forum posts would talk about going into the database to fix it, but the whole point of NextCloud for me was to completely avoid database management.
I’ve fallen back to using DUFS or copyparty for most things since I really just needed my file store to be browsable via web in some cases.
I probably would still be using NextCloud if they didn’t obfuscate the file system.
